959 376 On the old forum, the next one would be top of the page... But here we have more posts on 1 page too, so the numbers will be different no matter what.

Preparation day today: I won't repeat my post from FGSTPQ but calmly frantic would be the best description. Today is: Commemoration of Hugh, bishop of Lincoln.

We don't really seem to be getting any daylight today.

We recently went 10 days without any sunshine. They said that was the first time we'd gone that long in all of 2012.

We've had some sunshine here today but alas it gets dark all too quickly.

Fortunately, lighting is much cheaper these days. I remember visiting an old lady once who had a very low wattage bulb that made her house very dim because she couldn't afford more light.

We had the lights on a lot as well. Things were quite slow in the bar last night, maybe because it was so rainy.

959 367 I have LED lights and the big lights are included in my rent, so I am less preserving then I'd be if I had to pay for it myself and thus could change the costs.

959 365 When he said he'd come to "fix" it, did he say it in a Mafioso tone of voice?

959 361 'scuse me? Isn't it a bit early? Buying presents and cards I can understand, but won't the baked goods go bad?

They don't have to wait until it's Christmas.

I don't know that it is too soon really, today is the third Sunday before Advent, which means that there are but six Sundays to go (Advent only has three this year)

959 356 Ah, if you mean to eat it before Christmas, I guess it's never too early. I thought you meant things you were going to save for Christmas dinner or something.

The count was wrong Assuming (big assumption there! ) that the first count post in this thread (959,384) was correct then we should now be at 959,333 The default here is 30 posts per page, so the count at the top of each page should be 30 less than the previous page - this page should have started at 959,354. As there are no post numbers shown, it's trickier to check than with some other forum software, but if you look at the 'number of replies' for this thread before you post, then it's easy enough to check: Before I made this post the number of replies was 50, so I just have to subtract 50 from the magic number 959,383 to get the correct number for this count. 959,333

But if we have a competent monitor it puts us all under pressure to count wrongly so that he will have something to do on the long winter nights. I had my hair cut this morning even though today is: Commemoration of Edmund, King and Martyr.
