Earlier this afternoon I bought a 2½ square metres of red cloth and 2 metres of braid.

I can hardly move and still have to go to physiotherapy again today. No idea how I'm supposed to do that!

959 230 That sounds like a real catch-22!

Does a warm bath help you move?

959 228 Sorry to hear that Kaylee I have so much laundry to do, and it's the time of the year for window cleaning. And I just get a big work assignment. Less sleep I guess in the following month.

959 227 959 230 Does a warm bath help you move? It probably would if we had a bath-tub, but we only have a shower. Another thing to remember when we're looking for a flat next year, I want to be able to have baths. They're amazing after a long, cold, exhausting day.

Four months ago we used to have a hot water cylinder only four feet above the level of the bath, which meant that water ran very slowly into the bath. It took 15 minutes to run a bath so we didn't used to bother. Then in August we had a combi boiler installed which heats the water directly from the mains. Presumably we can run a bath more quickly now but we haven't tried it yet because we've got out of the habit of having baths. Like Queen Elizabeth I have a bath once a year, more or less, whether I need it or not.

959 223 Having physio two days running seems a little unusual. Pat turned the church linen (communion table cloths) pink when she last washed them. She's now trying to remove the colour with special 'colour run' dyes. It hasn't worked so far

That's problematic - pink is only used on two Sundays a year even in the most advanced liturgical circles ... you might be able to claim on your insurance though.

I tried to turn things white again when Frank had turned some of my stuff pink. It didn't work at all.

It's had a wash with patent 'colour catcher' swatches, a soak for two days in 'colour run remover' and then another wash on the highest setting with 'colour run remover'. It's almost white and, as Pat says, it's good enough.
I saw someone collared by the security guards outside the supermarket yesterday. It's the first time I've seen that happen.

959 219 My stuff that suffered from colour run (usually pink or blue) has normally crept back to its original colour. You must live in a better area than me as I have seen the security guards even running after people!

I've never seen security guards do more than standing around.

My dad recently asked me if Bremen was really as bad as its reputation. I think he'd heard about the Hells Angels and the Miri-clan controlling things here. But we don't move around in those areas, so we don't see or hear much about what's going on. I think the Hells Angels are gone now anyway.

I think sometimes things are far less bad when you know the situation. There is a place near town that is well known for being the place for drug dealers (and has even been on Sky's Road Wars), but if you pass through it during the day you'd not be worried about who you meet there.

Not scary at all, especially as it was Pat's appointment. The car park was overflowing and I had to park on a housing estate half a mile away because the local roads had double yellow lines. Only disabled people could park in the hospital grounds.

The hospital that is local to the parish used to have clergy parking bays but they were remove when the staff were changed over to a hot-bay system (i.e. bays reserved for the staff as a group rather than named individuals) it seemed the most fair thing to do. The only place where I can be assured of parking now is the crem. (that must be about my only perk of office now I think of it).

It's blowing a howling gale atm. John next door called round to ask for some help. His fence had blown down and he wanted to make it safe. Since he's 89 (or looks 89) and has recently had a major operation I decided I was more able than he.

959 206 Not sure about a gale, but it's certainly windy here today. As they were leaving work, a few people commented on it and told me to drive safely home. Does this mean that they think I don't try to drive as safely as possible the rest of the time?
