When my dad died I was busy rereading The Stand, which I do every now and then. For some reason I never picked it up again after that and it's still in the bathroom. I finally feel ready to start it again if anyone is interested. I can't remember where I had got to so will start from beginnng

The Stand? Never heard about it. Unless it is related the the Stephen King Movie about an apocalypse. Which was good.

Ahem. It is tbe BOOK - you know, one of those rectangular things make of pulped tree bark - that the movie was based on.

Ahem. The rectangular thing is called a page. A book is cuboid.

Surely a cuboid is square?

A rectangle is 2-dimensional, as is a square. Books are 3-dimensional.
Cuboid doesn't mean all the sides are equal ... that would be called ... a cube.

I hate everybody. But most especially people who recognise a book only from its film

Where do you think they get the plot for the books? They're so similar to the films they must be copied!
