That double episode with the cybermen where Rose dies
Okay so we've left Martha behind for ever - did I hear a subdued hurrah - and we are back with Rose and co. I liked Rose, Mickey and Jackie, even though when I First heard that Billie Piper had been cast my heart sank. TUrned out she was a much better actress than a singer though. Interesting to see the daleks and the cybermen in the same episode and to see the contempt that the former had for the latter. Storyline was not great but again, could have been worse

Fear Her
An intersting stand alone set during the time of the London Olympics. Some of the storyline was frankly a bit puzzling - I could not work out, for intstance, where the little girl's dad came into things. Other than that it was an okay episode ... not the best but certainly not the worst.

Love and Monsters
I'd only seen this one a cpl times before and the first time I was in a pub (with my parents and Antti iirc) and therefore was not paying much attention. When I watched it again I thought that I had not missed much. The Doctor is not actually in it very often but, as Blink demonstrates, that does not in itself stop an episode from being a classic. Unfortunately this is far from a classic though. THat being said, I liked it better this time than I had previously. The narrator was likeable and Jackie was in it .. i quite like her even though she is annoying. Despite a silly plot it did not take itself too seriously and I liked Peter Kay as a Northern green blob.

The Satan Pit/ the other one
This is a great double episode .. genuinely creepy and introducing a new species who will become semi recurrent - the Ood. Nice to see the chemistry between the Doctor and Rose and the fact that they were contemplating gettign a mortgage together when they thought that the TARDIS was lost and they were stranded. Good to see also that Rose had compassion for the Ood even though the others on the episode took their slavery for granted

The Idiot lantern
This one was so so. I liked the period setting and costumes but the plot was a bit thin. Nice portrayal of a lower middle class fifties type bloke, all 'I AM TALKING' and Queen and Country.

Hmm where have I got to? Oh yeah, the other cyberman double parter, forget its name
This was okay but again the storyline was not great. It was interesting for the insights into the character's personalities though. Mickey really came into his own in this one and made the Doctor and Rose realise that he was of some use and not just an idiot or a hanger on. Interesting to see the parallel Jackie Tyler who was a bit of a cow and I was not sorry that she got turned into a cyberperson.

Girl in the FIreplace
Love this one and have seen it lots of times. I have an interest in the period so I loved the costumes and sets, but I also thought it was an interesting and creative story. Some nice comic moments and some genuinely spooky ones too. Mickey is becoming more of a regular fixture at this point.

School reunion
Bit of an average episode which is redeemed by the fleeting reappearance of Sarah Jane and K-9. It was interestign to see that the Doctor had not bothered to tell Rose that he had had other traveling companions before. Wonder what she said when she found out that there had been dozens of them? And why DID the Doctor leave Sarah Jane? That was not cool.

The one with Queen Victoria and the werewolf whatever it was called
This one was okay but not very memorable. Was funny seeing Tennant as a Scot playing an Englishman trying to do a Scottish accent. Queen Victoria was well portrayed, other than that a bit forgettable

New Earth
Another first - after the CHristmas special - so more about gettign used to Tennant than actual story, though the story itself was not particualrly bad. Cassandra got a second outing which was fun, as did the Face of Bo

The Christmas invasion
FIrst Tennant episode and I rather liked it. THe storyline wasn't enormously strong but it was better than average and there were a lot of old and new faces that it was nice to see. As usual with a first it was about getting to know the new Doctor and find out what kind of personality he had - for him and for the audience4

the last two of Ecclestone whose name I forget And I only watched them an hour ago Didn't like these two much when I first saw them - I thought that the references to What Not to Wear and Weakest Link (not to mention Big Brother) were cheesy and now they look dated. However if you overlook those parts there are some good bits in here, and it's nice to see Jackie and Mickie playing a fairly big role. I liked the time vortex sequence

Not updated this for a while but still been watching
Boom Town
I did not like this when I first saw it, largely cos I was not keen on the Slitheen. Subsequent rewathes have made me warm to it though. The woman playing Margaret is excellent and we get to see a bit of the problems Rose traveling with the Doctor has caused in her relationship with Mickey. Nice moral dilemna for the Doctor too, over whether he takes Margaret back to her home planet and certain execution. I felt that was resolved a little too conveniently without him having to make a major decision.

The Long Game
An average episode whose main significance is that it ties in with the last two episodes of Eccolestone's Doctorhood. Adam was a damp squib as a companion and the story was no great shakes.

The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
Brilliant episodes, these. Great storyline and genuinely frightening. Lovely to make the acquintance of Capn Jack too. Nancy was an engaging and likeable character. I liked the repartee between ROse, Jack and the DOctor and the way that Jack was shown as both a good guy and a bad .. a bit like the Doctor himself?

Father's Day
I liked this one too. The Doctor does not always come out of it brilliantly - he could I thought have been more understanding of Rose's desire to save her father and also there's a bit of a contradiction here .. I mean, in subsequent series' he saves people who should be dead all the time and monsters do not appear to destroy the world. But despite that it's a fun episode and a favourite of this series.

The Unquiet dead
Another good one, featuring an apperance from a Torchwood actress whose name I forget. Introducing historical figurescan be hit and miss but the guy playing Dickens was perfect. And inteersting to see the Doctor get things wrong and make a decision that was ultimately to lead to a young woman's death. Presumably this was an attempt to atone for his guilt at his role in the Time War, but this is not made entirely clear.

Oops I forgot about the Double Parter with the Slitheen.
Didn't like it on first couple of watches - I don't like flatulance humour and these episodes are big on it, as well as being just a bit silly. But this time around I saw things that I liked.. more of Rose's domestic situation, for instance. Harriet Jones was quite likeable.
