Also why they wanted to kill the Doctor.
“On the fields of Trenzalore, at the fall of the 11th, when no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer, a Question will be asked. A question that must never, ever be answered”

I had previously watched well over four episodes, from seasons 1-3, and been mildly entertained, but not hooked. When those seasons were rerun the previous time I somehow got to watch several consecutive ones and then wanted to see more and looked them up, and shortly after that I was addicted.
A lot of it has to do with the charm of the individual doctors, 10 and 11 do a pretty good job, (9 may have, but I think we just got too little of him to get attached - it took me a full season and a half to have 11 grow on me).
But Strax is a delightful combination of the writing and the actor together really pulling it off to make a rather minor character memorable.
I am pretty sure he will be in episode 9 of this season as well, looking forward to that.

I liked Ecclestone btw but his doctor was a bit too angry for me. Also it took me a while to get over the fact that they'd just written out he rest of the Timelords!

Yeah Strax has wonderful comic timing . I'd like to know who resurrected him tho! If the short story says I'll let you know, but it might not, as the dr who wiki pages don't seem to say either. They wrote out the other timelords? They seem to reference them often enough?

yea that Time War thing was a new invention. I don't mean they made them never have existed but they killed them wholesale

So ... Strax has to do with Dr. Who? Oh no, I guess that's not it.

Well there's a vague resemblance.

uh....CB? I've found that it can be a distressing experience if you openly admit that you don't understand why others are so fascinated in things like Doctor Who, My Little Ponies, or James Joyce.... Sometimes it is best to just nod knowingly and let the reference just pass on by...

Took me a while to become a fan of Dr Who.

I'm gonna go ahead and move this to the Dr Who forum, so as to avoid confusion.

No, it wasn't. It was miserable and begging to be exterminated.

Besides, what is the point of having a poor, neglected Doctor Who forum if Doctor Whoviness gets appreciated elsewhere?

It's neglected cos no-one knows it's there

Maybe we should move the countdown thread here?
