Frank's parents said they would take us out for a curry on our last evening here.

I would dearly love a lamb madras but it's too late at night.

I've got guests coming over tomorrow before we go to a solstice night thing. I'm doing veggie curry, Bombay potatoes, naans, popadoms and various chutneys. Should be good.

From the local takeaway or did you make it all yourself? It's not tomorrow night yet! But yes, I'll make it all myself, except the naans. I enjoy cooking, and veggie curry always goes down well. I'm feeding about 8 people, I think. It has lots of veggies in it as well as chick peas and paneer cheese for protein. Sarah's tried it! (without the paneer to be dairy free). Come on over, Jayme!

I once found a vegetable curry in Sainsburys and loved it. A few years later I decided to try eating vegetarian meals to cut down on my meat intake but the only prepared meals I could find were ones that mimicked meat products. If I want meat, I'll eat meat. But I wanted to eat appetizing vegatbles. Sadly, that sort of thing doesn't seem to exist any more, not in my local supermarkets at any rate.

That's why I cook my own Had a brilliant evening - the curry was good (if I say so myself), and then we all decamped to one of the local pubs which had a solstice night of folk music, poetry, songs and stories. It was really special. They even had the Mari lwyd! en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mari_Lwyd

Come on over, Jayme! Oh, sorry Joe! Maybe next time? I'll save you a popadom.

How do you make the popodoms? Steve, you could always make your own veggie curry

I don't make popadoms, either. I'd love to know how, but I suspect it's a faff.

Steve, you could always make your own veggie curry And you could always calculate the trajectory of a rocket going into orbit

Is making a curry equivalent to rocket science then?

It's more difficult. Have a look at the Tsiolokovsky rocket equation, which is what most people mean when they talk about rocket science. It's so easy in comparison to making a curry. Granted, rocket science is vastly more complex than the rocket equation but the rocket equation is where most people come to a halt when they talk about rocket science.

Julie you can get uncooked popodoms that just need to be fried. I realise that this is not the same as properly homemade but they are a good deal better than supermarket ones and more like curry house ones (I suspect that curry places use the same frankly)
