I've meant to try this for a while but never got around to it .. I gather that it's meant to be pretty good despite being made of cuts that most people would not usually eat. I'd like to get a decent quality one though if I do try it ... not that nasty tinned stuff. Any fans?

Good haggises (haggii ?) are lovely. The proper way to eat them is "wi' neeps an' tatties". Neeps are swedes, but they're usually served mashed with haggis - kinda like mashed potato but with swede instead of potato. Tatties are, of course, potatoes - again usually served mashed when accompanying haggis, in my experience.

You can get veggie haggis but as mentioned it sort of defeats the purpose. What does haggis actually taste like? I've always imagined it to be very savoury and perhaps slightly .. not spicy but what's the word? Aromatic.
