I tried googling your pastry WG, but it comes up with so many completely different desserts and pastries that I don't know which one it is. You'll have to go again tomorrow and get one and take a pic.

It sounds so strange to my ears that the pastry is called fraise fleurs. The words are French but the syntax is not. In French we'd say fleur de fraises. You crazy Americans!

That's me making it up in complete ignorance of French. They actually call it a 'strawberry flower' for the benefit of us more ignorant Murricans.

Oooh that looks yummy! And since it is the nearest weekend to Bastille day I think it my civic duty as a non French person to eat French pastry tomorrow for my breakfast.

I went on the weekend and had an almond croissant which was delicious. Also shared this almond/pear flaky pastry they make which is equally delicious. Mmmmm

I'm also cheering myself up with the thought of Monday breakfast. DG and I celebrate our meeting for the first time anniversary, so we're going for breakfast at one of the best breakfast places in the city (from rumour, this is my first time going) and I'm excited. Here is the menu grainstore.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/GS-BKF-190416.pdf It's just a block from work which is also handy as currently we start at 11am so plenty of time to indulge in a nice breakkie. And since we first met in the morning, it's also apt to celebrate with breakfast.
