I once had a chili sauce with battered fish at a hospital restaurant because I thought it was parsley sauce.

I think it was a peppermint yoghurt sauce to accompany a chilli con carne dish, although I'm not entirely sure of its contents because I rejected it after the first tasting. Why are you surprised they were offering it? Hospital restaurants serve both hospital staff and visitors and they provide pretty nice meals for their staff.

I dunno .. woulda thought they'd go more in for bland food. That said I've only been in one once. I took one look, saw they wanted three fifty for a sandwich, and high tailed it

Three fifty for a hot meal is fine. Our local one has a Costa though so .. meh.
