Now that all the avatars are tested, will we all get to see the results?
I'm hoping that some tested real well and will get to go on to avatar uni.
Or...perhaps we should hope that none show any avatar STDs?
What was it we were testing?

Sanity. Yours failed.
It's okay, so did mine.

I updated mine to fit the season... Oddly enough I have several flowers etc. blooming in my garden, including violets and a rose. And of course the hebe you see in the pic.

Thanks, I'm rather proud of how well my hebe is doing after I sort of messed up the pruning. Ahem. Yeah.

Fl-flowers? In JANUARY??

I know. And then they say the earth isn't warming up. I'll invite Trump to my garden. The violets and skimmia are supposed to bloom through the winter if the temperatures don't drop too drastically though and we've had the warmest Christmas in decades. The rose and hebe is just odd though.

Gosh, I'm so living in the wrong country. We won't see flowers until April.

I heard this morning that we may not have any chocolate by 2050 due to climate change.

More likely, with news like that, we won't have any chocolate due to panic eating.

On the other hand, there may not be many people around to eat chocolate in the year 2100.
I saw a prediction three years ago, based on 25 reputable scientists' predictions, that there would be as few as one billion people on the planet in 2100. In which case, chocolate would be a very low priority.

Didn't I hear somewhere only the other day that the world population is in decline for the first time in yonks?
I probably won't be around for 2100 but 2050 is likely. I'd only be 69. So the chocolate situation worries me more.

Population collapse? I think it highly likely. I suspect we are in 'overshoot' right now. Yes, that would be a possible scenario if it were not for climate change. But by the end of this century, almost the whole of Africa will be uninhabitable, both by humans and animals, with similar scenarios throughout the world. We will be seeing hundreds of millions of people dying off each year from starvation. Migration will be limited. It will only result in wars that would kill even more people. I'm glad I won't be around at the end of the century. Nor will my children.

Likewise.
Still, I think that climate change is only going to accelerate the population collapse....the diminution of resources necessary to support basic sustenance will just make the collapse all the greater in extent and effect. And horror.
I don't think you want to unpack my pessimistic outlook, but, it IS, in part, why I 'forgot to have children'.

I can't answer for everybody but I am familiar with the concept.
