Because of the attack in berlin last year, the Christmas market in Leipzig, like many others is protected by these large bollards whic are suposed to keep cars from just driving in there. The problem, however, is the tram which still needs to go through. So instead of a bollard, a polica car is standing there. The poor policemen have to drive it back and forth a few metres every time a tram needs to pass through - which is about 500 times per day. www.lvz.de/Leipzig/Lokales/500-Mal-hin-und-her-Polizeifahrzeuge-als-mobile-Sperren-in-LeipzigThe article is in German, but there is a video which is quite fascinating to watch. Am feeling a bit sorry for the poor policemen who have to spend their day doing that.

Speeded up like that it looks a bit scary. Ì was waiting for a tram to collide with the police van. And was that cyclist at the end playing chicken?

We've got bollards in places now too. It's become a thing to paint them with street art.
The poor police guy will be even worse off if someone does decide to drive into him! Driving into a bollard would only hurt the driver.
