It seems too much to hope for, since he seems to be worming his way out of everything so far - I cannot believe that he has 'got away' with the crap he pulled with Britain First the other day. But the net does seem to be closing around him. One thing he does not seem to realise is that he cannot simply deny having said something when he is on record as having said it. So, oh, he gets someone else to take the rap and say that they tweeted it without his permission. Fuck that crap.

He's going down.
But it could still take a year or two.

I cannot believe that he has 'got away' with the crap he pulled with Britain First the other day. That's a non-event in America, law makers dress up in Nazi uniforms (or have done), his closest advisors work for Breibart (or have done). And anyway, they were British videos, nothing to do with America. It would barely raise an eyebrow even if they were American and most of his supporters would love him for it. He's done far worse.

What about the latest scandal "shithole countries" (sounds worse then the Swedish transation "skitländer" (shit countries)? . www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jan/12/donald-trump-shithole-countries-tweet-denies-immigration-talksThere are of course some adventorous people from Scandinavia who want to move to USA. But we are not living in the 19th century anymore. We have democracy, freedom of religion and welfare and less violent crimes than USA. Not that I think Trump's ardent devotees will mind. They think the same thing.

Not that I think Trump's ardent devotees will mind. They think the same thing. It will be interesting to see Trump's ratings next week. Last week, he enjoyed his highest ratings amongst Republicans since he was inaugurated, 87% compared with an average rating of about 83%. I rather suspect it will be even higher next week. Shame it's missing what would be a helpful figure as to how many identify as Republican. He could have shifted some away from the party as a whole, the way he's been going!

One of the biggest problems with Trump is the normalisation of the unacceptable. People get so used to it they stop reacting!

I shall stop making jokes. When Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London) made the joke, people laughed and it was reported by the BBC. But not here *sulks off line*

Shame it's missing what would be a helpful figure as to how many identify as Republican. He could have shifted some away from the party as a whole, the way he's been going! I think this means the political leanings of the independents are becoming a crucial factor.

The thing that is increasingly clear to me - from facebook, where I have a number of Family Farm friends who seem Trump inclined - is that there is a hard core of Trump supporters who will genuinely not listen or learn no matter what he says or does. That's troubling.

Trump's presidential approval rating amongst Republicans has gone down from 87% last week to 81% this week. I wonder why? Could it be they don't particularly like his choice of language?

It's still depressing that 81 percent of them approve of him though.

No, it's right there in the article ... some way down:
Republicans Independents Democrats % % % 2018 2018 Jan 29-Feb 4 90 33 6 2018 Jan 22-28 87 33 7 2018 Jan 15-21 81 31 5 2018 Jan 8-14 81 35 5 2018 Jan 1-7 87 32 5
You'll have to imagine the table formatting or go to the article.
