As some of you on facebook will know, I found a big lump under pIP'S chin last night. Col took him to the vet today and thankfully she does not think that it's anything too major. He's had antibiotics and an anti inflammatory and we're to monitor it for the next three weeks. If it does not go away it will probably have to be surgically removed.
Poor Pip is covered in dried blood but is being very brave

He's gone a rather fetching shade of pink from the blood

I didn't see the original title. I've had a large lump on my right wrist for years but after reading what the vet did to Pip I'm certainly not having it removed

I am also curious about the horrifying title
Glad he is ok.

The original title was just 'Pip.' I didn't think it was that horrifying personally

Glad he is ok. Spotty had a huge limp under her chin once and it was an abscess.

it's got bigger and now is visible as a red blur through his fur

Have you, or Col, or the vet, touched it? To know whether it's sore for Pip, like an abscess, or just something like a skin tag?

Didn't the vet say it could be surgically removed if it didn't go away on its own?

It's definitely not a skin tag but it doesn't seem to be hurting him

O my dawg....my dawg....what will we do?
Scream and shout, and run about?
It's Pip! Pip is perfectly fine!

I am really quite worried about this lump .. it's huge and red now

And now it's small and everything else is red?

He is having surgery. I do not believe he will survive it.

Now...Judging from what I read on F******k, Pip is not 'perfectly fine'.
That all sounds harrowing.
The latest is that he is out of surgery, and in recovery. Here, it is 18:30, so there is half two.
*deep sigh*

For the benefit of anyone that doesn't already know, Pip died in the early hours of this morning. He survived the surgery, but was to weak to fully recover from it. There are no words to express how I feel!

Poor little kitty... You both did everything you could for him and he was well loved from the beginning to the very end. Many hugs to you both.

Yeah. I keep wondering if there's anything we could have done differently but I really don't see that there could have been. We took him to the vet as soon as the lump appeared, we were going to take him again after the Bank Holiday weekend as it had grown, we called the vet when it burst and were told not to take him down just then unless it got worse and when it got worse we DID take him down. I don't see what we could have done differently but I still keep wondering
