One of the original founders of Microsoft, along with Bill Gates, Paul Allen accomplished many other things in his lifetime.
He was the owner of Puddle City's most visible entertainment asset, the Portland Trailblazers of the National Basketball Association.
He was also owner of the Seattle Seahawks, a multiple NFC champion and Super Bowl winning football (aka 'handegg') team, and the Seattle Sounders FC, a real futbol team.
Beyond these, he dedicated at least half of his huge fortune to efforts to support scientific study on the brain and cell strucutre, to the arts, education, exploration, and environmental and conservation efforts worldwide, including raising the bell from the wreck of the HMS Hood and installing it in a memorial in Portsmouth.
He also dedicated the funding to create the Heritage Collection of vintage aircraft which are on display at his museum/airfield in Everett, Washington. I have been to the shows sponsored by the Heritage Collection and personally greatly appreciate what Paul Allen has done to preserve such a vast collection of aircraft for the public to enjoy.
A real class act, for a billionaire.
He sure made our president look like the schmuck he is. Paul Allen was a class act.
He died today after his third struggle with cancer.
RIP, Paul.
RIP CITY!

Yes, sad news. He seemed like a good guy, even early on.
As a mark of respect I will refrain from Windows-related jokes.
