Well, a television series I'll be happy to see make an attempted return. Northern Exposure. Having been gone twenty years and bringing it back with three of the main characters, at minimum. Evidently, the set-up is that Doc Fleishman returns to Cicely to attend a funeral and is convinced to stay around. Same writers and producers as the original, too.

They seem to be making an increasing number of remakes. It's a shame as we already have these things and we're missing out on all the things they could have made instead!

I've seen some of 'what they made instead' and I'm okay with their going back to select something that was actually good programming.
They may botch the whole thing....remakes often suffer such a fate.

I've seen some of 'what they made instead' and I'm okay with their going back to select something that was actually good programming. I was going to agree thoroughly with you, but then I realised it's the studio execs thinking this - most new series aren't that successful, we should invest in remakes instead, with a guaranteed audience - that results in there not being enough new stuff. Even back in those days, many productions weren't that great - we remember the successful ones. Fortunately there are places like HBO and Netflix (and possible Amazon) taking risks and producing new content. We'll have to see how we feel about all this in 20 years.

Please tell me Marylin is one of the returning cast? If she and Ed are in it, I'll be happy. This was my favourte TV show, possibly still is. Just discussed flying cows today with my dad and was saying to Ronald we should rewatch.

I hope so...Ed, I think, will be back. From what I hear, Burrows has been a presence behind the scene in egging on the primaries/producers in to rebooting. I'm hoping they bring back Maurice and the noob gay guy hoteliers....but both Maurice and the Holling character actors are well in to their eighties. I see Cullum (Holling) doing regular defense attorney gigs on the Law & Order series.
Sgt. Barbara Semanski! Bring her back.

I would think that the writers and producers would see who they could assemble and then fill in the backstory of the past twenty plus years based on that.
It will be interesting to see what they do do.
