Anyone got any fun plans for New Year's Eve? Or not fun plans?

I haven't even planned to make any plans. I mean, it would be a pretty poor thing to do right? Messing up a holiday with actual plans?

I'm planning on getting together with some friends, but the weather is supposed to be crappy, so I might cancel.

We've been invited to a pantomime, Jack and the Beans Talk, in Stockport on Thursday afternoon. I'm curious because I didn't know beans could talk... unless it features Mr Bean.

Clearly it refers to a talk about beans, not by beans.
"Jack's going to be a grown boy soon, we'd better have the talk." "The talk, dear?" "You know, the birds and the beans."

Sounds fun. I was so impressed by the pantomime you took me to that I've already told Peter that we're taking the kids to one when they're 7 whether he and they like it or not.

But to answer the question: we've planned nothing on purpose. We'll light some fireworks before our girl goes to bed and we'll probably go to bed early as well, though we might get up for the fireworks at midnight. Or we may not.

We had plans, they're done and dusted now. Went to a friends and played board games all evening and just before midnight went outside to watch the fireworks. The apartment where my friend is currently living is across the road from one of the four major sites where they lit fireworks across the city so we had a really good view. Almost too close, I near had a heart attack when it started!
I still can't get over how gorgeous fireworks are these days. They really progressed and improved, especially with colours, over the six years I was in NL when I didn't see any for years.
