I think Kye was being sarcastic btw In terms of royal breedng they've taken ages No sarcasm here... I was taking the position of Dull Normals, where having a baby so soon after marriage doesn't really give the couple much time to bond with each other before adding a third person into the mix. But then, what do I know about royals? Of course, one of my first thoughts was ... well, when you don't have to worry about things like, "Oh, can we afford to have a child now?" it makes things a bit easier.

I hope that they manage to get some sort of gagging order on the media to leave the kid alone till it is old enough to decide whether it wants to be photographed or not

It's still a big thing here. Funny and to be honest, I don't really care much.

Kate is a lovely women, on the other hand, the royals seem rather dull people. But what do I know of the royals?!

Kate Middleton making preparations for an attempt to cross the English Channel in 2007. She's quite a good sport (although the palace thwarted her involvement because it was too risky).

Isn't that Kate Windsor now? I saw something on the BBC website about the Change of Accession (who gets next go at gran's job) being confirmed. They could at least wait until the baby has been born!

They were going out for a long time already so they had plenty time to bond I guess. Just need to leave a long enough gap to ensure nobody speculates the kid was conceived out of wedlock. Then you got to go for it so nobody thinks you can't breed.
I saw a story about royal baby mugs already being made. I think it's in very poor taste. Imagine if the baby doesn't make it to birth? Or is stillborn or something?

I think it's because she's in the hospital that they had to make the announcement. Otherwise the rumours would have been out of control.

kept in hospital on a drip for days because of morning sickness. Definitely one rule for the rich etc. Not for the rich only. She apparently has hyperemesis, meaning she can't keep anything down. It's dangerous for both mother and baby, and is much worse than regular morning sickness. It's also not uncommon if you're having twins.... this condition killed Charlotte Bronte.

If she has twins by caesarian section, which one gets to be monarch? The rules have been changed now so that the first in line to the throne is determined by age, not sex, so it would be even more interesting if the twins were one boy and one girl.

I don't agree that it would be more interesting... not to the male half of the population.

I've heard some elderly German ladies talk about royal families as if they knew them.

You are a frequenter of the Royal Court, Kaylee? No, we don't have one. It's elderly ladies on the bus or tram whom I've heard talking like that. I think it might have been my grandmother once or twice as well.
