Has anyone read "The Cuckoo's Calling" or "The Silkwom" by Robert Galbraith, the pseudonym of J.K. Rowling?

No ... have you? I am not too fond of the genre but at the same time I'd be interested to see what her non HP fiction was like. I've not read the adult novel she wrote under her own name yet either - I entirely forget what its name was.

"The Casual Vacancy" I didn't remember that directly! I thought it was "The Visitor" "The Hotel" or something... near enough! She's apparently doing an adult Harry Potter story. I assume that means when they've grown up, rather than anything about Hermione and plumber she can't find any way to pay!

I didn't really enjoy "The Casual Vacancy", but the newer ones are much better, modern day detective stories. And as for Hermionie and the plumber, there's plenty of those sorts of stories on fanfiction

Yes, I expect there's that kind of fan fiction for most things!
