I know we have a thread on this already but that contains spoilers, so if Jo wanted to join in on this I thought I'd start another thread. Anyways, spurred on by the other conversation with Jo, Joe and Miisa I've just nearly finished Northern Lights again. Dunno if anyone else fancies a group read but I'd be prepared to wait for them, as I'm getting bugger all else done and should take a break really (binge reading - bad). Thoroughly enjoying it again though.

I appear to have little to do for my work shift this evening, and just about to get a cup of tea and a biscuit, so will commence my reading as well. Still only very little in.

Omg, really? That's not good. I should give them bad feedback. I've got a spare copy if you like?

no no it's only two dozen or so ... I was not sure whether or not to tell you as it seemed a bit rude . But I am sure I can get it online.

I feel I read it not long ago. But I can go along since I know it pretty well. I think the first book is great but it's the second and third that are really awesome. Which bit is page 80?

In my copy it's around the time Lyra goes to stay with Mrs Coulter. I've just finished the first book so I'll wait for everyone.

I am unfortunately still in the first few pages. But discuss freely, since I read the whole series not long ago

But! Are you enjoying it? Do you like where it's going? (And where do you think it is going?)

Ivaguely know where it's going as I read the blurb When I read it I enjoy it but I have to be in the mood for new stuff ... otherwise I just do rereads.

Have you got any further? I've also got to the bit where she escaped from Mrs Coulter's party.

Aargh... I can't find my copy of The Subtle Knife! I can find The Amber Spyglass, but what gave I done with the other one?

Maybe you posted it to Jo?

I think something about the series causes the books to become separated. I misplaced my copy of the Amber Spyglass for a while. I blamed it on moving house ... but there could be something more sinister going on ...

I would have loved to see that made into a film. Would have loved to see a Will. Stupid American film goers not making Golden Compass more profitable!

I didn't like the Golden Compass very much, the actress playing Lyra was dreadful. I thought Nicole Kidman made a good Mrs Coulter though.
