That would be depressing for both ends. Though I'd have picked up the normal phone and called. Or skype called.

I am hugely excited because Tim Minchin is going to be on the radio with Dr Karl on Thursday. Fortunately they turn it into a podcast as it happens 11am Aussie time which is about 3am here I think.

956 177 Moose often texts me late. If I am awake I reply, and if not I sleep right through it. I can even sleep through the phone ringing next to my head, so it's not a problem of disturbing me.

956 173 Danged new pages!!! I have only just the hang of texting at all - I don't think I could do it in the dark ... My phone lights up the universe and the brightness is set to almost the lowest setting. I think that on the top setting, it can be seen from space!

I have to have a phobile moan for work but really have not get used to the idea. It may well have a light for all I know but it is the absolute rock-bottom of the range €20 job and is only switched on when I am actually in the parish or expecting a call.
Old fogey, aren't I?

956 168 So I just tried the rolling your boiled egg to crack the shell and peel it trick. Anyway, I was rolling and no cracking was happening so I pressed a little harder and the egg went splat! The shell did come off easy after that.

Someone needs to invent a steam-powered egg shell removing implement.

Would be handy if it utilised the steam from the boiling of the egg so you had a egg boiler an shell remover in one.

I'm involved with an old people's event this week, which we're calling 'Holiday at Home'. Fifty old people in the church hall pretending they're on holiday in Wales because they are too infirm to go there. I'll be proving music and microphones and playing a couple of DVDs. Not very demanding but I have to be alert nearly all the time. I have my iPad with me and so I'm not far from civilisation.

956 159 What kind of phone do you have that requires a slow, blocking resync? Sounds very last year

956 153 It's only restink the second time! It's an iPhone (I would not buy a new one; this one has been exceptionally disappointing). It has their slide thing that cancels alarms, unlocks the phone, answers the phone and cancels the sync. It seems to just be the same thing with different text on as, if an alarm goes off while it is syncing, swiping it cancels the alarm and the sync in one hit. It really is very poor!

956 152 This is all information beyond my comprehension ... a quick run-down on the Graf-Welhausen Documentary Hypothesis is well within my capacity but phobile moans are all smoke and mirrors to me - I can read all the words in your post but have no idea what they mean!!

I am breaking my leave week to go and say mass for the parish down the road because their priest is on holiday; sadly she is retiring soon on health grounds ... this is particularly worrying for me because she was in a cohort that I helped to train.
