I decided I should just go ahead and buy them, at least the first three seasons that cost less than 10€ each. But should I get Blu-ray or DVD? The price is the same. The benefit of blu-ray is better visuals (but only slightly at the moment, my current TV is many years old so likely can't show much difference), but the benefit of DVD is that it will play in ordinary DVD players and as such can be lent out to people who don't have a blu-ray player.
I slightly prefer the look of DVD cases, but Blu-ray has more extras.*fidgets*

Clearly they should sell you the bluray discs in the DVD cases.

Well, obvioulsy.
There is still the issue of that blu-ray discs annoyingly require blu-ray players.
Still currently leaning towards them. Currently = this minute.

Clearly they should sell you both, in the DVD box. For a discount.

Whilst my OCD is not of that particular kind I do empathise and sympathise. I can't be bothered to detail my latest OCD thing but, whilst it accords me a certain surreal pleasure it's certainly a pain in the ass.

I decided last night to no give my DVD shelf OCD that power over me to keep me from enjoying things, so went ahead and ordered the blu-rays. If it becomes unbearable once all the seasons are out I can always save up money by not eating for a few weeks or taking a second job or selling a child in order to get a box set then.

If you saw the episode with a big green explosion, then yes.

That's the one . Sparkly! But why such a short season?

They have always been ten-episode seasons. The last two will be 6-7 episodes each, apparently.

And next season might be half a year late, as Winter has come to Westeros, but not yet to the Northern hemisphere of our world.

Ah right ... course they have always been ten episodes, now I think of it. Okay, what did we all think?

Okay, what did we all think? Go girls! Also, pretty green explosion and not a bad fleet of ships.

I really need to watch it all over again to get the measure of it. To an extent I was a bit disappointed with it though - I didn't think it was as good as previous series'. That is just a first impression though.
Was a bit upset that Ramsey Bolton did not die more horribly.

I thought it was an amazing season. But then I love some of the developments sooooo much.
I got all the previous seasons on blu-ray now and will start a re-watch any day now.

Two editions of GoT are being shown every week from the beginning. Serendipitously it started about four hours after we got our Sky installed. It's a sign.

I saw the final episode of season 6 last night. Loved it! Cirsei is now the mad queen she was always destined to be - even Jaime is horrified. My one criticism is the apparent teleportation of characters. How did Varys get from Dorne to Meereen so quickly? And it took Arya ages to travel to Riverrun with the Hound but in the last episode she's suddenly there in no time. Can't wait for the next season, Shame it'll be such a short one.

The fleet at the end includes the Dornish and Tyrell ships (not easy to see, but some of the sails give it away), so it seems this is a scene after passing Dorne and therefore picking up Vary on the way, not just after leaving. Must be a pain for all the soldiers to stand all the way, though... As for Arya, well, her timeline could be completely different from the others, and most of her action thus perhaps took place months ago, but it wouldn't to to have no Arya scenes in all the middle episodes, as people would miss her. Plus, she is much more efficient now than before she went in for training. That's my splaining of it

Though, in retrospect, you'd think they would land their forces somewhere around Dorne or perhaps Highgarden, as the troops are mostly land-based (Unsullied, Dothraki). Though now there is also a navy and, of course, an air force.

That's an interesting point though - I was thinking how invincible Daenarys and her allies would be. So next seasons the varius sides seem to be: - Daenarys, Dornish, Dothraki, Unsullied, Tyrells and Yara/Theon Greyjoy, Tyrion, Varys etc - Jon Snow (Targaryan), the Wildlings and various small northern houses, Sansa and the Arryns (?), Arya, Brienne - Cersei and Jaime Lannister with who? Do they have any more allies? They do have wildfire though, I suppose. - the White Walkers Seems a bit unbalanced, especially as the Lannisters seem to have run out of allies. There will obviously need to be some joining of forces to fight Daenarys, but my prediction is that they'll all need to settle their differences to defeat the White Walkers. It's OK, I don't really have work to do today...
