So, I'm reading this online article about cricket and the Ashes competition and one Ozzy musing about it all with typical snark up and claims that "the British are only world class at queuing, quipping and whipping". Now, I not only remain as clueless as ever about cricket, I'm wondering what all this is about 'whipping'. Yes, queuing...and, yes, quipping. But, whipping? Where does that come from? Enlighten me, Europeans. Oh, and any Antipodean who wishes to chime in.... Heh... "I love a British summer, it's my favorite day of the year."

It means that the Aussies enjoy beating us resoundingly at sports ( whipping us )
I draw their attention to the 4th test at Trent Bridge

So....The 'whipping' is actually 'being whipped'? Is that some strange Ozzy grammatical deconstruction?
