My city is an old city with a very diverse population and architecture. There are buildings in the Bauhaus style and very old buildings from 1600. Of course there are also ugly buildings from the 70s and 80s. The canals and rivers are a huge attraction for tourists. It's on the bank of the IJssel, one of the Netherlands three largest rivers and on the Berkel. The population ranges from posh people with money to artists and artisans. We've got loads of artisans here. Zutphen is also known as the anthroposophical capital of the Netherlands, with 4 different Waldorf schools, anthroposophical GPs, shops, gardens, etc. There's also an abundance of bio/eco shops for clothes, food and even paint. The council is also very green minded... in some cases they think more about nature than people. Strange enough we've got only 1 shop selling typical hippie stuff. Zutphen sees itself as an up and coming place with a twist, so they organize loads of quirky festivals such as the chocolate festival in September and the Bokbier (goat beer?) festival in October. Despite all these festivals, most tourists are 65+.
