I got a bunch of bath stuff from Lush from my son, and my daughter gave me a spa day with a massage. Plus a couple of bottles of wine from parishioners.

Frank got a coffee machine and an iron from my parents, as well as some clothes and chocolate and a book each and money from my grandmother. From my sisters we got a calendar, a set of Dr. Who glasses and the series "Caprica" on DVD. I got a beautiful jumper from Frank's parents and a cardigan from his sister and her boyfriend and Frank got a cardigan from them as well and a t-shirt - and 20 £ from a friend of the family who gave me earrings. Actually, we got lots of presents and we all like giving each other presents, I think.

That sounds wonderful. Can you carry it all back to Bremen? I'm interested in the Dr Who glasses. Do they let you see into the future?

I got colouring books and pencils and a framed photo of Indian Jones! Oh and some raspberry shower gel and chocolate and measuring cups which are in the shape of a chicken inside an egg inside a chicken! And a beautiful bunch of flowers from DG!

A book about Romania (or the good parts of it, as a Romanian work colleague commented) with mostly pictures and short descriptions, and some chocolate.

My new yarn swift and ball winder that I ordered with Christmas money have finally arrived (after obsessively tracking it's progress across the country on the FedEx website) and I wound my first ball of yarn with it last night. Well, it was technically a cake, but "a cake of yarn" sounds particularly indigestible. Looking forward to independent yarn winding. Previously, I had to enslave a family member to hold the yarn while I wound it. Nobody much enjoyed that.

Deborah recently won £500 of wool in a competition. You can imagine how long that would take to wind into balls.

Perhaps I should get her a ball winder instead of finishing the craft project I am working on for her.
