I'd be interested in opinions on Ruth Davidson, the leader of the Scottish Conservatives who is being credited with 'reviving' the Tory party in Scotland. A disproportionate amount of attention seems to be being paid in the right wing tabloids to the fact that she is gay, and I can't help the vague (and rather evil ) feeling that the Daily Mail did not quite know how to present a story about someone who, whilst producing an entirely laudable result for the Conservatives, is both Scottish and homosexual.. things that the average Mail reader and senior writer is known to frown on. Other than that though I know very little about her and I'd be interested in opinions from all sides of the fence. She is, at least, from a working class background which frankly makes a change from a large number of prominent politicians of all parties. But - is she a flash in the pan or could she actually be a name to watch?
