I have no words for this at the moment. I've had enough of Isis and others like this no matter what religion is involved.

Isis has claimed responsibility but that does not mean that they are responsible .. it would not be the first time they'd claimed that they'd done something that they did not. It was initially reported as a homophobic attack.

Reacting to the shooting, Paul Ryan said that "as we heal, we need to be clear-eyed about who did this. We are a nation at war with Islamist terrorists". BBCBut from what Mateen's father said, it seems very unlikely he had links with IS. It's more likely he wanted to mess with the authorities, or that the media was wrong in claiming he had links with IS. "US media has reported Mateen pledged intelligence to IS in a call to emergency services but officials will only confirm he did make a call to 911," says the BBC report. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has called for Mr Obama to step down for not using the words "radical Islam" and has reaffirmed his call for a ban on all Muslim immigration :rolls eyes:

Has Trump ever done anything that wasn't disgusting?

Trump saying something disgusting is par for the course. What is more worrying is that a lot of people agree with him.

You know. I could really care less about politics in this. I'm just pissed that my group was targeted. You don't want to know what I think on terrorist at this point. They will get guns no matter what but the fact is being gay is the ultimate sin in their fanatic religion. If fanatic is the right term.
Did here someone say that we have to deal with them the way we did Nazi in WW2. I am not sure what that really means and thought it odd.

He claims allegiance to IS but doesn't mean they had anything to do with it. It's very convenient for them to claim all these lone wolf attacks. They encourage them of course, and he could have done it in their name I guess. I'm sorry KE, that your community has been attacked.

I am sorry too but I think also that these assholes know perfectly well that by doing these things they further alienate all Muslims. The majority, I believe, do not want or condone this sort of shite.

Really ?
My experience is that the overwhelming majority of Muslims are opposed to equal rights for the LGBT community.

He sounds like a bit of a fantasist, probably fighting his own homosexuality. Those who are most bigoted are usually fighting their own feelings. According to this article, he claimed ties to several different opposing groups of fundamentalists/terrorists, although from the sound of it he probably made most of it up, attention seeking. www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-orlando-nightclub-shooting-20160613-snap-story.html

None of my Muslim friends have a problem with the LBGT community but they might be atypical.

More to the point, what I actually meant was that most people, Muslim or otherwise, do not go around committing mass shootings

They are very atypical. I have a few muslin clients. some of them have told me a time or two that they do not do loans, over in the country they came from they don't have these problem of being gay, stealing, etc. I ask why. Was told that they either chop a part of the body off or kill you. Had some of them tell me they wished America would do the same to people so they wouldn't have to deal with having car insurance, or home insurance because that to is against their religion.

Charming ... sigh. I hope that opinions will change in those countries but it might be a slow process. Look what is happening to gays in Syria.

But this does not give any hope at all. Mass shootings will continue. www.rt.com/usa/347526-senate-vote-gun-control/Even this which NRA supports: And of course this: They did not want stop the loopholes after the massacre on 20 children. So why would they after the massacre of 49 gay people? And all this talk about "Muslim terrorism". What are all the other mass shootings to be callad, "domestic terrorism"? Even if Islam forbids homosexuality, Isis has not targeted homosexuals before. The killer was mentally disturbed and Isis just went along. As of yet there is nothing to prove that he had any training by Isis or that they even heard of him before his deed.
