I've proudly managed not to see a single game so far and don't have any especial intention of changing that, but is anyone watching?

Is that something to do with foreign exchange rates? The euro against the pound?

That was last month Moose. Ukraine won if I remember correctly.

I assume you mean Uefa Euro 2016. This is the official song (and Swedish singer Zara Larsson sings):
Since my husband follows the socker games I know about the games, which country is winning. But I don't watch myself. Whenever I look, someone is falling on the ground and grimacing for pain. Is this for real or is he "filming" so that his team will ge a free kick?
The Swedish team did not do that well, a disappointment for all Sweden.

There are an awful lot of things that seem to make a joke of football if you ask me. And don't get me started on the behaviour of some of the fans. I know it's a minority but still.

To be honest I was quietly pleased that Iceland won too shame on me maybe but *shrugs* our footballers are overpaid, over complacent idiots.

I am hoping Germany doesn't win tonight.

Why not? I wished that Germany would win, just b/c they have not won the last 8 matches against Italy. Not that I watched the game, but my hubby did. Seemed to go on for ever, with prolongings. And finally Germany won. I always want Sweden to win, though I never watch. But I want my countrymen to be happy. Everytime I hear the German national hymn I want to sing "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles, über alles in der Welt". But they don't sing these words nowadays. I must have heard those words in films or TV-series.

I don't have the nationalism to hope they wold win. I fail to be proud or happy or to feel like it has anything to do with me and people are celebrating by driving their cars through the city and honking and lighting fireworks which means it might be a while before we can sleep. And there is just a bit too much, extreme praise of the team while all the other teams are, of course, not nearly as good and are very harshly criticized. It just irritates me. Admittedly, I wanted England to win last weekend because of my English husband, but since that didn't happen, it's basically over for us.

Alas, the Iceland footboll saga is over! Here is the Icelandic chant: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeEJvdVpK8kThough it is inspired from the Scotch Motherwell fnas. Ah well, the Scottish people also have Viking blood.

I wish it could have continued. If England isn't playing, I tend to hope for the underdog to win.

Wales in the semis!! I don't usually follow football but I'm really rooting for them. It would be unbelievable if they made the finals.

Unfortunately they did not. But they made it that far, good for another small country (or what it is called). So Portugal will meet France or Germany.
For some reason I think France will be the final winner.

Germany definitely won't be. I was relieved last night. It was so quiet outside.
