Looks as though Corbyn is going to be forced to resign in the next few days, though he has refused to do so so far. I am sorry for it - I like the man. I also don't think that a country where there is temporarily no real leader in the two main political parties, especially at a time of great uncertainty, is a recipe for great disaster. I have no idea who we might get instead.

So much, actually all, of British politics is about putting together a party that will win. But this always involves compromises and - currently more so than usual - divided parties. It would be so much better if there were more parties and they were focused, so you actually knew where they stood. Corbyn should head a proper left-wing labour party.

Are the unions behind Corbyn? I thought he had lots of support there, now it seems mixed.

He's a decent man but he doesn't have the required leadership qualities. His performances in PMQs has been difficult for anyone to justify. It's been difficult for his Labour MPs to sit and watch him rambling on about issues that, while of integrity, were not the most pressing issues to bring to PMQs. That's not what an opposition leader does and his fellow MPs have signalled their lack of confidence. Sadly, nice guy, time to put your party first and step down.
