Yeah, here we call it 'Depression-style', even though it stylistically dates from the 1920s. It was quite popular at one time for fresh fruit boxend advertising (your 'product packaging', perhaps?). It evokes a sentimental response to one's grandparents era.... The artist is a local who has gone on to do all sorts of advert stuff, but is best known for his icons of American scenic tourism. I love it when I find a 'PAL' teeshirt and I have several. Here's a couple more nearby locations:
