i've never watched it. I like Mel and Sue well enough but not enough to watch a very boring programme about baking

That was the best show, possibly ever. But without Mel and Sue, what is the point? May as well not have Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry either!
I always laugh when I see other countries try to recreate a successful show from abroad. They alaways fail to understand that it's more than the format, it's also all about the hosts.

It is the only cooking/baking show I ever felt like watching. The contestants are not catty towards each other like you see in many contest shows, and the drama is not overdone or feel fake. Just hope that carries over to any new hosts and a new channel, but I somehow doubt it...

And Paul Hollywood is sexy. I always think he must please his partner quite a bit with the way those hands work.

Okay a programme that I ASSUMED was boring because it was about baking But I've seen several people now say that it was all about Mel and Sue and that without them they will not bother to watch which does make me wonder if I've missed out on something.

To be fair, it wasn't just about Mel and Sue. The whole programme just works so well - it's more than the sum of its parts. Even if you don't like baking.

DG loved the show too. Although our favourites never seemed to win!

So in other words, Channel 4 have just paid £25 million for Paul Hollywood and a tent. They must be spitting feathers by now. Hah.

So it's just gonna be a baking show that is not what it was?

Well without three quarters of the presenters, it can't possibly be the same. Mel and Sue were funny, naughty, and supportive of the contestants. And Mary was that elderly school teacher with a stern stare but that tried to see the good in everything. Without them, there's no chemistry.
It won't be Bake Off any more, that's for sure.

The current season of Bake Off is still with the BBC people, though, I think it airs on Wednesdays, probably also available on iPlayer.

Apparently the Dutch version was hugely popular, as was the host, but the host is now recovering from cancer. Dunno how the current season is received. I very much enjoyed the British sewing Bee programme. I was so disappointed that they didn't air another season.

Channel Four can't be happy.
Still, Chris Evans is free.

Everyone is a loser, Channel 4, Mel Sue, Mary and the viewers.

Paul Hollywood is a winner by the sound of it. Getting a bucket load of money before the show is cancelled after the first season on channel four.

Today they are not appearing on my computer. I was afraid they were images that only show when you've visited the referring page and have them in your cache.
