The GOP have control of both houses and have the Presidency. What could they conceivably do? I've seen a lot of panic on my facebook feed suggesting that they might now try to overturn Roe versus Wade. I'd always assumed that that could and would never happen but - could it?
Ironically, I highly doubt that Trump gives a damn about abortion and it's not improbable that he has had children aborted in the past. It depends, I suppose, how much he is going to feel the need to keep the evangelical vote. He might feel that he does not need it anymore.

It would be awesome if he isn't a nazi and stops the pretend-to-be-a-republican thing, and goes full-blown liberal. Or goes to prison or whatever before Jan. 20th.

The weird thing is that he isn't really a Republican so - you never know. But I don't think he's a liberal either.

Don't hold back, Daily Mirror, tell us what you think I wonder if Trump sees these things.

As far as the UK is concerned, this morning's headlines claimed that there will be a special post Brexit deal for the Brits (the Express - quelle surprise) and that we will be at the back of the queue in any trade deals (the Mirror).
Who knows?

I reckon Australia will be at the front of the trade deals.

Why Australia? And do you mean UK trade deals (rather than US ones)?
I can't help feeling the biggest prizes Brexiters are thinking about are India and China, and India (despite or because of our long history together?) seems amenable.

I meant UK trade deals and it is no more than a hunch based on noises Australia made within a few days of the referendum.

Ironically it could turn out that we are better off under a Trump Presidency in terms of relations than we would have been under Hillary. But that still does not make it right.

I'm not sure what's happening with trade deals with the UK. Post Brexit I heard plenty of talk of our long standing, strong ties blah blah blah. But I also heard stuff about how we should be making stronger ties with the EU. But that was a while ago and I TBH I haven't paid much attention.

Now Trump is appointing people who have the reputation as white supremacists.

Probably worse to be honest. Though the line up Trump is assembling looks terrifying.

Yes, when I start to feel like it's not going to be so bad, I remember his line up, and it's worse.

I wonder how long it's gonna take working class white Americans to realise that a lot of what he's going to do is going to screw them

A lot of what he said he was going to do was empty blather.

I am worried about the bits that he MIGHT do though. And I wonder too if he's biding his time till he's officially sworn in and is then going to do something really quite unpleasant. Or a lot of really quite unpleasant things.

I wouldn't be surprised if he feels a little out of his depth. He has no experience of government.
