Pretty much the opposite of your thread title.

The consensus among the people I meet at the gym, most of whom voted the leave the EU, is that Trump may do some good. Yes, thinks I, but an awful lot of harm.

I was talking with a MUslim friend whom we all know just now. She is scared to leave the State she is living in in case she's not allowed back. These are actual human beings he is doing this to, for no reason at all other than blind prejudice... and the world is sitting and watching (yeah yeah I know - I am not doing anything either and I don\t know what we CAN do?)

I am not sure that it is blind prejudice ... I think it is eyes very wide open prejudice designed to reinforce the views of his core voters.

Half a century from now, every American will be denying that they had anything to do with this, that they supported it. And at least half of them will be telling the truth - they did not and they did not. But as for the ones who voted for this - shame on every single one of you

Well, not really because it's all false.

There are plenty of people out on the streets and/or calling their senators. There are also plenty of people out on the streets in many other countries. However: while Trump is doing this and we're all focussing on this action, what are the people in the shadows up to? I'm sure they're not randomly doing things as they seem to be doing. I'm afraid to guess what their main goal might actually be...

My dad seems to be ok with Trump. Not directly a supporter, but he doesn't seem to think it was a bad thing that people voted for Trump. I'm generally avoiding the subject.

I read a theory once that liberal minds favour fairness whilst conservative minds favour order and structure. I think most of the people on EF have liberal mindsets.

My father reads a lot online, sometimes sources I had a quick look at, but considered to be no better than the average press, just more conservative. But of the more conservative Christians quite a few seem to more or less support Trump, even in Germany. I find it hard to understand that, so I generally stay out of the discussions.

Steve I dunno - I think that many of the people who voted for Trump certainly do not have ordered and structured mindsets

But the other side is making false and irresponsible accusations! Our side is always right and wholly justified!

You sound just like Trump. Today I read a blogpost by someone who voted for Trump. It was an interesting read. He was accusing every Trump-hating protester of obstructing freedom and the press of twisting things. He had a point. Let's be honest: there's so much lying and twisting going on that no side is completely up to date anymore. I really don't like Trump and what he's doing and think his poor backers are deluded, but when I see my own timeline there's so little nuance... it's impossible to form a clear picture anymore.

I can usually trust BBC Newsnight to give me a clear unbiased picture. It's on every night during the week and lasts for 40 minutes, although not everything is about Trump of course.

I like your pictures Miisa! Though fb does not always show me them. I seem to get a load of random stuff from people I don't even like and often not the stuff my actual friends are posting which I'd like to see

Warning! I'm frustrated with everything and everyone! Don't read. Lol
I am not liberal all the way and I'm not conservative all the way. I do believe there should be background checks on all but not in the way they did it. Just moved to fast. I also don't think we should let people in without making sure they aren't part of some terrorist organization. But that doesn't mean mistakes won't happen and I'm sure some are very well hidden from background checks as welll as able to sneak around the system. As long as things are legal once done correctly and not half assed. This is not set up as a ban. Filter would be the more correct word. Of course, it has to many bugs in it so it took on a more negative tone as well as president Trump's wording and twitter feeds did not help. If it was an actual ban there would not be anyone allowed from those at all no exceptions and people were still able to go and come. AGAIN, it was not a well implemented or thought out plan! It vented or blocked quite a few that should not have been. But I also quit paying any real attention due to Facebook bullies. It needed to be handeled better with a better plan. Not pull a trigger and see what happens. Then you had histeria to the media and bam. You get miscommunication which leads to fear which lead to more mess, hate, people tearing each other down. If people get their act together long enough to check facts then this could be solved. Try to get into Canada. It's tougher than becomeing a citizen here. Tons of other countries have stricter rules than us. We as people of this country have to find a solution or there will be a day of reckoning and fighting about it will not work.
Is everyone going to agree? No! That does not mean cut your neighbor down because you can agree. Disrespect one another and act like children. I had to turn my phone off because I had what I though was a friend call me and ask why I wasn't at some march couple weeks ago. Joker. I don't care. I'm sick and not well at that time and you want me to come to you to some march that makes no sense anyway to me. Then you have the nerve to call me names. Same day! Another friend texted me and asked why I wasn't backing him up about the support of Trump. I'm think to myself, "Have you fricken lost your mind." I am not interested in that either. This is not a Saturday night wrestling match. Then I got attacked by him. Both sides r ridiculous and I'm sorry..... you got someone who's give a #%€£ broke years ago.
I've had it up to here. If I wanted children I would have had them. There. I feel better now. Lol.
