It is only 90 F, but it feels like more.
The wind has shifted and we are now blessed with smokey haze from the fires east of the Cascades.

Last night was the first in quite some time where the outdoor temperature cooled enough overnight to be lower than my indoor temperature.
I have the French doors propped open.

It's quite mild here thank God but I gather that the rest of EUrope is broiling.

It's like winter here, cold, miserable, wet and windy.

That sucks!
It's nice here: 25 C and partly cloudy.

Overcast and cooler! It is still in the low sixties...but then, it's not even noon, yet. But it distinctly cooler and no direct sun, which is a huge respite.
All the locals are throwing open windows and doors to allow the cool breezes to blow out the stink of too many days shut up against the heat.
If it rained, we'd prolly have dancing in the streets.

Oooo...A light rain overnight. Cheap thrills. It was light enough that it is still dry under the trees.

That sounds rather nice. Here, it's been rather wet for the past two weeks. Not raining all the time, just damp and miserable with the occasional day of wall-to-wall rain.

A nice wet rain for an hour or so this morning. It was wet enough to force me indoors, but reports are that it was not region-wide.

OMD! It is actually 'cold' this morning. 48 F. That's a bracing 9 C. Cold footies.

Wow, 9°C. Here we are starting a late summer heat wave - 20°C, 68°F, hot for us.

Yeah? Well, it's mid-afternoon now and it is 21 C. It may top out at 22 C. That's still on the cool side for here in late August.
I'll take it.

Even better, today I turned off the A/C entirely mid-morning. It has been overcast, dry and calm all day. I can leave the door ajar and wide open without concern. An exquisite gardening day! Now, late afternoon, the clouds have broken up and we are getting a fair bit of blue sky, sending me scuttling back to cover on my PC.

I turned off our A/C last month after the hot spell. (Our A/C consists of opening and closing a couple of windows upstairs.)

Today is cool but tomorrow and the next day will be warmer. After that, and as usual, the temperatures drop at the beginning of September and summer is over.

We've got what's not enough to call a drizzle, but is too much to stay outside all day even though the temperature is nice enough with a coat on.

A dry rain! You are describing what we laughingly call a 'dry rain'. One needn't don a jacket just to do a quick outdoor task because you don't get that wet.
Here, we have very high, very light overcast. I suspect it will be gone soon and we'll have another warm and sunny day.

One would normally put on a coat to go to the shops in case it rains. That is called 'overcast'. Whether one takes a jacket or not usually depends upon whether one intends to walk, or drive. Here, most walkers would take a light-weight jacket against the possibility of rain, if it looked or felt like it might rain. But, if one is just going to the car, from the car to the shop, and back, and then back to the house from the car...no jacket needed.

We have a bit of a heatwave. "Only" 27° in the forecast, although my car was confident that it was 29° yesterday (after driving a while ... 31° to start with but it had been sitting in the sun).

We have 2 days of 27 before dropping rapidly back towards the upper tens.
Dry rain sounds like an apt description of the phenomenon.

Overcast with a 'mostly cloudy' forecast. The big hubbub is that rain, real rain, is forecast for next Sunday, with sprinkles the two days before.
This is excellent news.
