We're having an all-out, full-on winter storm. Gullywasher rainfall combined with high velocity winds. A friend just dropped by and tells me that limbs are down on the roadways all over town.

Cold but the storms have stopped. Gloomy and dark though sigh

Rasputitsa; the local version. My garden is awash in standing water. That was after a clear day yesterday.

That sucks!
It's really warm here --about 16 C. I like! But it will be heading on down all tomorrow until it hits the minus numbers Friday evening.

You need a new boiler... and a new council.

You need a new boiler... and a new council. Yeah. Like, this was a problem more than twelve months back. Did no one think that winter would return?

Yeah. Like, this was a problem more than twelve months back. Did no one think that winter would return? It's been a problem for a lot longer than that. I remember ten years or so ago, before Colin came along, when Jo spent Christmas without heating.

To be fair it was my fault, I just didn't want to have to deal with people so I didn't call them out.

A light snowfall overnight here. Enough to leave a few spots of accumulation, but that's about it. All gone before noon.

It's indeed cold. The frost is still hanging in there on my lawn. I cycled to town carefully and had to defrost when I came home. No snow though, to the great disappointment of my eldest.

It's -12 C here and going down to -15 C overnight. There's a bit of a wind though, which is enough to freeze my fogged up glasses...

It dawned clear and cool. It's still above freezing, even overnight. But the breeze is kicking in, as well.
We are being forecast snow come Sunday. Well, mixed rain and snow Sunday continuing in to scattered snowfall for the following week. Some of those days are expected to warm to above freezing midday. Depending upon the amount of snow accumulated, that can be good or bad.

The forecast snow arrived on schedule, but the amount is just enough to put a light layer of accumulation....say, under a couple of centimeters.
ETA: That snowfall was gone by sundown. Then, overnight, we got about double that the next morning. Still, walkways are partially clear and will not require me to shovel them clear....yet. It is now eight Farenheit below freezing and not expected to rise above freezing during the daytime. So, if it snows, it will accumulate. And, the sun just came out. Next expected snowfall will be after nightfall.

We're back up to 7 degrees. Lots of rain forecast.

So, a fair bit of the second night's snow lasted through until nightfall. The streets were clear, but walkways were becoming compacted ice. Then, last night, we got another eight centimeters of snow accumulation. The forecast is to get just a couple degrees (F) above freezing during the day, so prolly not enough to melt away what is there, but enough to refreeze into an icy crust when the temps plunge at nightfall, creating a bigger mess the next day. They closed the international airport due to conditions, and some steep roads have been closed; pretty standard for this situation. Were this a school day, they would close the schools.
ETA: By nightfall, most streets and walkways were clear. A faster thaw today.

Here it's just rain. Lots of rain. Though intermittent, so you can still go places without being soaked if you have the luxury of planning your outing.

Dawn brought subfreezing temperatures with rain. Yeah, rain. I think it was the warm front moving in, with warmer air above dumping rain onto the ground through a thin layer of cold air near the surface. It has continued to rain on and off all day, as the temperatures rose above freezing and the snow which had accumulated on the ground grew patchier by the hour.
We may be back to 'just wet' by nightfall.
