It's clear here so far, but we're looking at some rain in the afternoon and evening. It's pretty cold though: 6C at the moment.

Lots of rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Sky looks entirely innocent at the moment.

Tomorrow evening, la Moose will be experiencing the tail end of record-breaking hurricane Lorenzo, with strong winds and gusts of 45 mph. Not as dramatic as it sounds.

I just put on the heat in my apartment. Sigh. I guess summer is over.

Likewise. I just turned on the heat in the house.

Wait...It seems a random Puddle City autumn day was misplaced and subsequently found in Melbourne. Just a holiday in Oz, I guess... So, you don't get winter snow in Melbourne? I don't remember any mention. I remember when I was younger we had some snow fall but the type that doesn't even fall across the entire city and melted as soon as it hit the ground. I didn't see any, I just remember it from the news report. Usually on Mount Dandenong and Mount Macedon which aren't really Melbourne (maybe Mt Dandenong might still be considered within the outer suburb limits) there will be snow fall once or twice over winter. Lake Mountain is about an hour and half drive and that is considered the closest snow field to Melbourne - it's part of the Australian Alpine region which is part of the Great Dividing Range that crosses all the way north to south on the east coast of Australia. It's green and lush on one side and dry as a bone on the other side.

It finally reached just a point of a couple degrees above freezing. So fall lasts maybe one week here We go from hot to cold quicklY.

Recently it was - 15 C in the north and + 15 C in the south. Here it is + 11 C but it has been drizzling for days now.
Otherwise, I find October the most beautiful time of the year. Trees in red, orange and yellow, green grass and often blue sky.

Finland is notoriously not that beautiful in October - with the mostly grey skies and frequent rain. But the birch trees turning gold against the evergreen pines and spruces are pretty good.

Heh. That sounds pretty much like here. I'll bet Finland is a lot flatter, though.
We've had the distinct seasonal change from 'road construction' to 'windy rain'. And...It's real rain, too, not our usual 'dry rain'.
The drear is definitely here.
Today we have light showers with intermittent sun breaks. A great day for baking, so I scooped up makings for two different apple pies. They're in the oven as I text.

Today is gorgeous. Perfectly warm and sunny, a cool but not cold breeze. It won't last long. Hotter tomorrow, then back to cold the day after.

Rain and rain. It's cold at night but not freezing yet. I have my snow tires on my car, so I'm ready physically if not psychologically.
