It's been jacket weather here. Summer is a fading dream.

This week promises to be lovely and mild, 17°C occasional sun, little wind.

Heavy dew, but no rain. AQI is now down to 260. Visibility is now over a half mile, so it seems reasonably clear nearby, but within reasonable distance, the haze obscures.
Temperatures are such that overnight cool means that I've turned on the heat, but it only kicks on when the indoor temperatures drop 'too low'.

I opened my window to let the cool evening air in. It was still too warm inside after yesterday and today.

Well, the day started out promising but went hazy fast. The AQI climbed back up to 450 and has not eased off much since. Still no rain.
Everybody has been forced back indoors.
Rain now forecast for late Thursday, all day Friday.

If the AQI is 450, does that mean there is less socialising and will that help to reduce Covid-19 cases?

What's AQI?(Unless you're not answering that question either).

What's AQI?(Unless you're not answering that question either). Air Quality Index. The lower the number, the better. Anything over 200 is deemed 'harzardous' for exposures of more than 24 hours.

Awoke to the sounds of rain. AQI = 230.
The cats are confused. The seem to be malingering indoors, waiting for me to turn off the sprinklers in the garden.

So, the air cleared following the last couple of days of rain. Then, we've gotten three days of nice weather...not too hot, not too cold, and not wet.
Yesterday, the clouds were doing the heavy drama thing in a blue sky and today we've reintroduced rain...predicted to be four days of rain and showers.

We're supposed to get rain later this evening. I wonder. Otherwise it's been a pleasant warm day.

I expected disincentive weather today, but instead, I got doorzopen weather. I got more work done in the garden than expected.
Another day of 'drama clouds'....Big billowing clouds against bits of blue sky, all visibly moving. We're supposed to get torrents tomorrow.
ETA: Coming in after darkness had fallen, having repeatedly returned to more garden tasks.

Well, it was dry when I arose, but since then, the skies have opened up. It is still dark and it sounds as though it is going to be a long, indoor day.
Time to toggle to sweeping, mopping, swiping, and scrubbing, rather than weeding and replanting. In other words, too much time in front of the PC.

I spent most of this week at my daughter's place in the country. It was beautiful, but quite cool. Today, I'm heading back home where we're looking at a warm weekend: highs of 25 C to 27 C for the weekend! Yay!

Downriver, eh? Niiiiice. I saw that you did click Le Bic.
We're in the midst of a two-day squall that kicked off before sunrise this morning. After this blows over, we're back in to the dry zone for two weeks.

It was actually a nice and dry day. We went on a walk in the woods and I expected mud since we've had quite a bit of rain during the nights but the lanes were fairly dry, so we've had less rain than I'd thought.

Morning fog. Again.
We've been experiencing some really decent autumn weather, ever since the westerlies drove away the smoke. Cool enough to work outdoors (whilst dodging direct sunlight), but warm enough not to need bundling up against the weather. Still road construction season.
Looking at the forecasts, though...Well, that bodes for the arrival of windy rain, likely come October 9th. Here, at least. After that point, there seems to be an exceedingly long line of gray and wet days, marching off in to the distant future.

Cold footies indoors. Stepping out on to the balcony confirms that, this morning, at least, a sweatshirt is in order. Overcast, for now.
ETA: Open doorz afternoon.

In a clear blue sky of a lovely autumn afternoon the calm was broken by honking. Yes, from above me.

I hate geese. They are noisy, territorial and make a mess.
It's very grey here, but not very cold. I don't fit my coat anymore.
