Third week of Advent starts tomorrow ... I might begin to acknowledge the possibility of Christmas now ...

I have 2 funerals this week --nothing like funerals to put one in the Christmas spirit! At least I'm only officiating for one of them.

I participated in a carolling choir day. I'm feeling quite in the Christmas mood. That said, still one week of teaching to go... *sigh*

I'd love to sing in a choir again, but my voice is not good atm.

After singing for a whole day, my voice isn't too dandy at the moment either

Mine is still affected by the laryngitis which I got on top of the bronchitis.

I am having my usual 'how can there be only one week to go when I've been talking about it for six months' thing.

I have a lot to do between now and the 25th! But at least my presents are all bought.

I will be celebrating Ninjamas with my offspring on the evening of the 22nd, despite having to work normal office hours that day. We were supposed to do it on the 23rd, as is traditional (the Saturday before Christma eve), but my son has to work that evening. After that, however, my holiday will be all done and my daughter and I will likely spend Saturday in a Star Wars marathon and the actual holiday days of 24th-26th will be all MINE alone to watch and eat and drink what I want with no stress.

Now I am being invited to things over Christmas. I suppose people think if you aren't with people you must need company then? But, but but...

I've just been invited to a dinner with colleagues. I want to go, but I don't want to at the same time.

I hear you. That happened to me last weekend and I ended up making an excuse and not going. I can't say I regret it...

I'm sure you will find the right combination of not going with a good excuse but emphasising how much you wish you could go, or (and?) turning up late or leaving early also with good excuse.

I've just been invited to a dinner with colleagues. I want to go, but I don't want to at the same time. You could just eat too much the night before and contract a stomach bug That would give you a cast iron excuse.

Definitely don't go. People are the evil.

I'm not going, but that's mostly because I'm surviving by the skin of my teeth as it is. More social time with the Christmas family do's right around the corner may be a bit too much.

Well, I had to call in sick today, since I was shaking and leaking tears all the time. I didn't think that would be a good condition to teach in I hadn't expected this break down to come until after Christmas though.

Hope the leaking dries up soon.

It will. Once I have some time to myself to rest and deal with all the emotional stuff of the past couple of weeks. It's just been one gigantic moving train though. It was either moving along with it, or get thrown off. I guess I lost my grip a bit earlier than expected. I'll be fine.
