I'm presently sitting in an air-conditioned guesthouse room escaping mid-afternoon heat. (It only hit 24 C today. A cooling trend.)
I'm northbound to Krakow for a few days, leavin Mary to stew in the spa pools of Budapest. I hired a car with driver to go overland into the slightly cooler temps and thunderstorms. A storming of Poland...
And, I have renewed my hate affair with duvets. They are the spawn of Beelzubub and Discomfort. In my estimation, they should be banned entirely. We had down-filled ones in Bucharest and I needed to wring the damned thing out next morning. The cruise ship provided me a simple duvet cover and a too short lightweight blanket to replace their cotton batting duvet (they did not even HAVE any flat sheets. Here in Budapest, cooton duvets have been ignored in the heat and I've slept with no covers until the A/C. Now, I chill the room so I'm comfortable under the duvet...when the A/C kicks off, I usually kick the duvet off.
Flat and fitted sheets with multiple light weight cotton blankets and a lightweight comforter FOREVER. DOWN WITH DUVETS!
