Another one, and my premonitions are usually wrong (though not always) so don't get excited. But ages ago I had a premonition that Trump was going to leave the Presidency during November of this year. I thought it would be a resignation but you never know.

Him, and all his minions.
I think it important that Manafort be outed for what he is....a tool of foreign interests. Why? Because he is the reason for Pence being added to the ticket. He is the one who makes Pence complicit within the constraints of the foreign interests attempting to disrupt US political processes. It is not just the Cheeto Benito that is important, but the entire administrative structure which has been erected in and around the White House. Pence would be no better in the president's desk and perhaps he could be even worse, because he could keep his mouth closed and doesn't seem to be addicted to social media.

I haven't entirely been following the recent stuff though I've seen vague bits on facebook. It's all starting to see like a farce

Starting?
It has been a farce from the get-go. I suspect that we are still staring a constitutional crisis in the face. And could be for some time.
I'm hoping that the pot will be boiling merrily when the mid-term elections arrive one year down the line AND enough of the sane American public votes to turn out the current crop of puppets in Congress and the writing is on the (non-existant) wall.
We will spend the next generation cleaning up after this debacle. IF we can bring it under some control soon.

I don't know Mari. I might have agreed once but seeing the depths of Trump's narcissism and insanity has been an eye opener. I wasn't expecting anything good from him but I had not expected it to be this bad. Pence, at the very least, hopefully would not spend his days taunting people on twitter.

I think Pence is scarier because when can all agree that Trump is horrible, but after Trump anyone will seem like the better deal. Pence is actually the type who can hide what he's doing much better. Do we really want someone in power who is agreeing with what Trump is doing, will be liked for not being Trump and is subtle?

Pence, to me, is scarier than Trump. Totally, and for multiple reasons, not the least of which is that he is not as openly crazy. So on the surface, you just feel you can trust him more, when of course, you can't.

Summary: Pence wouldn't be great for the US either Exactly! But seriously, from this article: The very last statement above is troubling, and this is not a knock on religion per se, but because it represents a potential breakdown of the wall of church-state separation which was so central in the founding of this country. It was a big fear that many here had about JFK being a Catholic, that his faith would make him susceptible to influence from the Vatican (which he famously rejected). It recurred when John Kerry was running, and he made a good tactful reply to a question on the abortion issue. That Pence is seemingly also scientifically illiterate is quite disturbing to me.

That Pence is seemingly also scientifically illiterate is quite disturbing to me. Is there anyone in the Republican party who is scientifically literate? I would think that Colin Powell would probably have a good basic literacy in science. He took his undergraduate degree in geology at CCNY. And...there IS Dr. Ben Carson. *winces* He IS a brain surgeon. Really. I find it difficult to fathom, myself. The Republican Party is replete with high profile members who flaunt the 'Dr.' title. Most, I would assume are associated with the medical community, like Rand Paul and his father Ron before him. A medical, or pharmaceutical, degree requires are great deal of immersion in scientific principles and concepts. Somehow, in the US, it doesn't weather the profit motive very well. The same seems to apply to those in or around the scientific field of 'economic geology' which underlies the mineral extraction industries worldwide. There, scientific credibility takes a beating from the profit motive, as well. This is a worry I have for our own member, Ming. I suspect that most US scientists in this field in the US are probably either unregistered, or registered as Republicans. Lastly is the field of engineering, or 'applied science'. Those with educations in engineering fields have extensive mathematics and physics backgrounds and demanding scientific education. Yet, many crackpots, including crackpot Republicans, have bona fides as engineers of one kind or another. So, yes, one would think so.

On another note, Trump has only five days to resign What? No. Trump can choose to resign at any damned time he wishes. What is this with the "only five days to resign"? I think you need to elaborate or redirect - I need more information on this claim.
