Because it's the kind of thing JoeP would do?

It wasn't me who posted 'matured' on the previous page. That's still a mystery.

I decorated the sitting room yesterday. Would anyone like to send us mince pies?

Generally speaking, couriers will only deliver food to another country if it has a 'used by' date of six months or more from the date of posting. I'm not sure what that means for mince pies but I rather think they would be classed as perishable.

Namby-pamby health and safety police.
Mincemeat is clearly something developed to preserve fruit - in lots of sugar and usually alcohol - to last through the winter. The British winter (if it's not in fact a German thing originally like lots of our Christmas traditions), where there's a still a risk of things going off, not the Finnish winter.
Let's not ask about the butter in the pastry.

*sigh* That's what I feared. Which might be why I haven't found any place where I could just order it.

There's a British Shoppe in Arnhem. They sell mince pies and christmas crackers etc.

If you buy mincemeat in jars you are NOT making your own mince pies.
