The midsummer festival just started today so it must be mid summer here. Which would be about right. Started Dec 1, finishes Feb 28.

We can get some decent sunshine from mid April onwards but yeah, I'd certainly not expect it to be significantly hot before about June. And not even then really

We had the same idea for Christmas... but not the budget. Oh well. I hope you have a great time. And that your hotel is decorated appropriately

My mother in law, who lived with us, died in June abruptly while on my watch. She had a stint put in on a Tuesday and returned home on Thursday. On Friday she called Randy instead of me being in the house. Told him something wasn't right. He called me as he was heading home. Ambulance should hsve been called and not the 10 minutes it took to get Randy. And the 5 minutes it took to reach me. Walked in to her side of the house. She looked fine but she had a headache and she said something wasn't right. I knew right then things were serious. Randy got in the ambulance came she collapsed and died of a brain in your is hemorage with a couple of hours.
We cannot do Christmas this year. We don't want to be around Oklahoma so we are off to Colorado. We have to tell the chritmas light company that we r not hireing them this year to put the outside lights up on the roof. I do most of the ground myself because I'm a control freak, lol. I've told family that I'm not throwing a party and instead we r taking them on a Christmas ski trip. The help I have to put trees up don't know yet.
We just can't bear it this year in the house. We r planning on building a new house and selling this one.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law's death. No wonder you want to escape for Christmas. It sounds like it was awful.

Thank you. Means a lot to me. But it's time to march on and keep moving forward. That is what we must do.

Only when you feel it's time for you to march on. Never let anyone else tell you when you should be done grieving. *hugs*

Thank you. I can't believe it's October though. Halloween is coming up here. You know? I can't remember if that is onlynan American holiday or if that its in Europe too.

No, it's a thing in some countries or areas. I reference it in class as an American thing, but historically it's a European thing that went along to the US. Trick or treating was added there. It sort of fizzled out over here, but the US is now returning the US version of it to Europe. Hallmark and the like are trying to get it a thing here again as well, but unlike Valentine's Day it's not too much of a success yet. I think. There are some interesting short videos on NAtional Geographic/Youtube if you're interested in the history of Halloween.

That's interesting. If it isn't a thing in Europe why try to do it to make more money? Oh wait. Probably greed! Lol

It seems to be a thing here too, but we've never had trick or treaters ring our doorbell. Might not be a thing in this part of the city, or we're too high up and kids don't want to climb all the stairs.
