I don't send cards any more (I made a donation to a homelessness charity instead), but thank you to those that sent me Christmas cards, much appreciated Hope you all had a lovely time. Mine was OK, although I really don't like Christmas on the whole anyway - I haven't yet found the secret of making it less stressful. Nice snowy walk yesterday, though. We're now on our way to visit family and friends in England, but unfortunately I'm also finally succumbing to some horrible lurgy, and feel a bit bleh. Anyway, happy new year to all of you. May 2018 bring you all you could wish...

How to make Christmas less stressful? Go away to a Carribean island for the whole of December.
I'm sorry you're I'll but I hope it doesn't spoil your visit too much.

I hate this time of year, sigh. Once New Year has been and gone I shall feel lousy.

Yes, travelling to somewhere hot seems like the best way to deal. A friend of mine went to Hawaii. I'm tempted to do the same next year.

That does sound appealing except then I would have the stress of what's happening to my cats and my house. Or, if Little Miss JoeP stayed at home to look after them, stress over whether she's having Christmas-related stress.

If yours starts in the chest and proceeds to throat and nose later then I empathise. If it's the other way round then I sympathise anyway.

True true but this warm place still requires dealing with christmas and family. Another warm place would not.

I thankfully never really experience Christmas stress. This year I was still letting go of the school stress, though, which made Christmas tricky. Other than that, it's my favourite time of year (though my favourite holiday is Easter).

Hi all --just to let you know I won't be sending out Christmas cards this year. Our mail service is having rotating strikes and I don't want my cards to end up in limbo...
But I wish you all the best of the holiday season!!!
