'Tis the season.
I've been through two half flats, already. I'm thinking about rushing out to get a half flat for soothing the loss of sunshine.
Any reason I can come up with will work just fine. More strawberries is the goal.
I must off.

I have several different races of strawberries planted. They've all produced something, but not in great batches yet.

I've been through two half flats, already. What's a flat? Twelve pint punnets. A half flat being six pint punnets.

I have been treated to a helping from the first crop of strawberries from my parents' allotment.

I love strawberries and use my pregnancy as an excuse to eat lots of them.

It wouldn't take my kids long to go through a flat of strawberries. Neither Mrs Shake nor I eat them, though.
My mother used to make strawberry jam though. We'd help her with the process and get to eat some of the froth which was skimmed from the top of the boiling concoction. I don't mind strawberry flavored things, just not the fruits themselves. I think it's a texture thing.

I'm the opposite of Shake. I like the fruit (if it's fresh and not too sour) but I really don't like strawberry flavoured anything.

I agree with Kye. No strawberry flavoured foods ever really taste like strawberries.

I like my grandmother's strawberry jam, but generally I prefer the fruit to anything that is strawberry-flavoured.

I absolutely love fresh strawberries from the field, but that's about it. Three weeks of the year, I gorge on fresh strawberries and then, only if I get good fresh frozen strawberries in the middle of the winter....
Most strawberry ice cream is easily avoidable, but vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberry compote....damn. Even better with a spritz of whipped cream.
