I need to start drinking more milk again. Got to get away from the soda. I've gotten better at increasing my water intake, but not when I'm at home.

I think the argument is that bread will go stale faster in the fridge, and I might agree with that. This only really applies to fresh bread not already packed in a bag, though. All other bread I always also keep cold.

Sometimes bread doesn't go mouldy .. it just goes stale. I think it depends on how much moisture is present or something

People are often getting the bread advice wrong. Bread stored in the fridge will go mouldy slower, but it will go STALE faster (but still be perfectly good.) So it's more a matter of taste!

mine goes straight to the freezer. I take out what I need for the day in the morning.

I usually have one loaf out and some in the freezer. I take one out when the previous one is down to the last few slices. In an emergency both my toaster and microwave are very effective at thawing it out in a hurry.

Do you find that microwave-thawed bread is a bit doughy? Or am I doing something wrong?

Seems okay to me, but my microwave does have a specific defrosting bread mode, so maybe it's doing something differently.

Your microwave has a button specifically for defrosting only bread? What (really cool) devil machinery is this?

Not a specific button, but one that goes through different types of things to defrost.

My defrost button is a 'catch-all' defrost. And it makes my bread soggy and gross. Maybe I just need a new microwave.

Mine is well over 10 years old, but I got a slightly more expensive one as the glass turntable was broken and there was a tiny dent on the edge of the door. They took £50 off the price and then got a new turntable posted to me free of charge, which meant I had to wait three or four days before I could use it.
