Yes yes dear. Custard cream dispenser coming up
Kelly - they had a phone at the back that could be used to summon police. The interior was a holding space though. Or perhaps a space where cops stopped for a sneaky sarnie when they were meant to be on the beat.

I am now greatly concerned from where the custard creams are dispensed from this aardvark-based custard cream dispenser!

Dare I ask?
What is 'custard cream'?
Ew.

If I said it was a biscuit, you'd still get the wrong impression. Best not to think about it!

Children at my church do not like custard creams very much. I get them on a regular basis to have with tea, coffee and juice after the morning service but custard creams are usually one of the last to go.

She comes across very differently from previous doctor's, a bit scatty at first but very competent and likeable. I have no complaints about the doctor. It was hard to follow and not easy listening. I've watched it twice and still can't work some of it out. Star Trek is much easier to follow. I think I've worked out why it isn't easy listening. Much of the dialogue is fragmented. Phrases instead of complete sentences but more importantly, multiple disjoint threads. I compared Dr Who to a crime drama earlier but I rather think it's more like a soap opera.

You do know you can toggle subtitles on the BBC, right? Just go to teletext and key in 888. That's how I always watch the BBC anyway. That way it doesn't matter if I don't quite catch something.

NB: that trick works even when you don't have teletext since it's a legal requirement (or it used to be) for deaf people to be able to watch to public network shows.

You're suggesting that older people are more likely to like custard creams? And therefore ... that 2,000-year-old "people" are even more likely to!

If I said it was a biscuit, you'd still get the wrong impression. Best not to think about it! Don't patronize me. :glare: With some searching, I came up with what it is you are referencing.... Sandwich creme cookies....aka Oreo, Hydrox, Maple Cremes. You people actually seek out the filling of such things? Eeeeeew....

Not sure what the case is there, but there's no teletext feed on anything we have on digital here. There are subtitles delivered in whatever new way it does it, but teletext is long dead.

I shall be dismissive of you too: :doubleglare: Well, if I'm going to be dismissive, I might as well make hay while the sun shines. How can this board continue to operate without a :glare: emoticon? This is a grievous oversight and some underling peasant moderator with connections to FF should be tasked to steal a :glare: emoticon for EF. And....Where the fuck is the 'custard' in custard creams? I suspect there is not a single egg yolk used in the fillings of those 'biscuits' you fawn over. It ain't custard, it's sugary goop.

You're suggesting that older people are more likely to like custard creams? And therefore ... that 2,000-year-old "people" are even more likely to! Probably but the 2000-year-old people go to the 8:30am service and have their own coffee and biscuits, which don't include custard creams..

Trading standards distinguished between 'flavour' and 'flavoured' a long time ago. Thus, raspberry flavoured ice cream must contain raspberries whilst raspberry flavour ice cream does not have to. In the same way - although I am unaware of an actual ruling saying so - custard creams do not have to contain custard.

LOL...Semantic hogwash. In other words....marketing! Here, the stuff between the wafers is called 'frosting', or just 'stuff', though it is often advertised as 'creme'. It is milkfat and sugar. Oreos/Hydrox is, of course, the US paradigm and the childhood memory was learning how to cleanly remove one wafer so you could lick or scrape the frosting layer off first. The wafers, of course, were chocolate. Dark chocolate. The classic biscuit to be enjoyed with a tall glass of cold milk. Custard creams. Creme filling. Same thing.

Yeah, they're pretty gross. They're usually seen as a kids' cookie here. Not too many adults are into them.

Aaanyway... I'm just watching the Rosa Parks episode of DW, and it's pretty good so far. Except some of the 'American' accents, which are slightly toe curling.
Bradley Walsh is surprisingly good.
