We will probably do our usual turkey with assorted trimmings. We got the Aldi food catalogue through the door the other day and I have to say that there is some very yummy looking stuff on there at very reasonable prices. Am tempted to sweettalk Col into going with a list.

In Sweden, we celebrate on Christmas Eve. It is the day we give each other Christmas presents. And eat Christmas ham for the first time (it will last for over a week).
So Christmas ham, sausages, potatoes and kale. Lutfisk also belongs to the Christmas dinner as well as rice porridge, but we will eat that tomorrow.
People also eat meatballs, salmon, Jansson's temptation, jellied veal etc served on the Christmas table but we simply cannot eat so much.

Roast turkey with sausage meat stuffing wrapped in bacon, kindly made up for us by the local butcher.

We had venison (which was surprisingly good since I usually don't like it) with the usual: stuffing roasted potatoes, parsnips, carrots and red cabbage. And trifle for desert which my sister in law made.

We didn't eat. We ate out on the 24th for my grandmother's birthday and yesterday we had a very large breakfast with the whole family. By the time we came home we just sliced some veggies and made a salsa. Tonight we're eating out with my mother-in-law.

We had nibbles, but the stars of the show were my deviled eggs and the bagels and lox bites. Those went quick.

Turkey and ham, which I have come home with a large number of slices of; sausages, stuffing, bread sauce, gravy, sprouts with chestnuts, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, Christmas pudding, mince pies, brandy butter. Champagne, a 30 year old Lebanese red wine, some other red wine, a pudding wine. And coffee.

I had to think for a few moments before figuring out what a pudding wine could possibly be...

I had to think for a few moments before figuring out what a pudding wine could possibly be... Pudding wine is an excuse to continue drinking after the main course!

Yesterday, I had a turkey roll for breakfast and a turkey roll for lunch. I was contemplating a turkey roll for tea but didn't fancy it. So I went to the supermarket and got myself a chicken madras. I had to think for a few moments before figuring out what a pudding wine could possibly be... The German Trockenbeerenauslese* makes an excellent pudding wine but it's hard to find these days. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trockenbeerenauslese* A Qualitätswein with distinction (prädikat) made with hand-picked over-ripe grapes.
