So I've heard. Wonder how it will be. It was never my favourite, very religiousy.

Well....I just finished binge watching the first season of American Gods, based upon Gaiman's solo work of the same name. All I've got to say is....wow. Yeah, it's pretty 'religiousy', too, so I guess you wouldn't be interested.

I love the book, but I'm not sure about an adaptation. I will wait to hear what people think, and even if people like it I still might not go for it. Some books I like too much to watch any adaptation, even a good one.

Oh...That I do understand. In most cases, I agree. Then, I also understand seeing films of books you did not particularly enjoy and having it shed a lot of light on the book, even though it did not assiduously hew to the storyline. Catch-22 was like that for me. I tend to think that it is 'all in the interpretation' and I'm interested to see how somebody else interpreted it. I have read the original Good Omens and think that there is a fair amount of room for interpretation, and, I note that Gaiman himself is the executive producer. I would assume that this means he has some kind of purview over how far the producers and directors can stretch and change the story for their interpretations.
With American Gods, I was not hindered with having read the book. I have enjoyed it immensely and eagerly await season two. I'm told it is an excellent read.

I actually started reading American Gods but never finished it. Ronald enjoyed it. There was a lot of stuff I didn't understand which I think would probably make more sense to an American.

Actually, there is a lot of stuff of which most Americans have only a glimmer of understanding. It's not the sort of thing the average American goes in for....most are oblivious to their own mythos.

I saw a trailer for American Gods when we went to see Captain Marvel - it looked pretty cool. Though seemed to be mostly men involved.

I remember enjoying the book but I can't remember - erm, anything about it. But I did like it.

Wow, 4 women? Amazing! How many blokes? Gee...I'm sorry. You probably shouldn't watch it at all. There is indeed more than one male character. Too bad.
