In the document, called “the great replacement”, Tarrant describes himself as a “regular white man from a regular family” who “decided to take a stand to ensure a future for my people”. He said he wanted his attack on the mosques to send a message that “nowhere in the world is safe”.
The document says his parents are of “Scottish, Irish and English stock” and that he was born into a “working class, low-income family”. When he was young, he was “a communist, then an anarchist and finally a libertarian before coming to be an eco-fascist”, he says.
Among other things he claims this is a revenge for the killing of 11-year old Ebba Åkerlund on Drottninggatan in Stockholm 2017. Though this terrorist Akilov is in prison and the praying muslims in the mosques were not IS-jihadists and had nothing to do with terror. But I suppose this killer thinks all Muslims are enemies.
New Zealand’s gun control laws will be strengthened following the massacre of 49 people in Christchurch mosques, the country’s prime minister has said.
Jacinda Ardern said at a press conference early on Saturday that she would consider banning semi-automatic firearms altogether after the alleged gunman behind the shootings obtained five guns legally.
“I can tell you one thing right now: our gun laws will change,” said Ardern. “There have been attempts to change our laws in 2005, 2012 and after an inquiry in 2017. Now is the time for change.”
Obviously they don't have a super powerful weapon lobby in NZ.
We are famous for "Stockholm syndrome": "Q: Hey, what's up with Matt? His Dad is on social security, his mom got laid off, his sister's kids get free school lunches, he collects federal financial aid for college, and he only makes minimum wage working at Walmarts. Yet he keeps talking about how we need to cut taxes for the wealthy and quit spending so much on social programs. A: Yeah, he thinks he's going to be a millionaire soon. He's got Economic Stockholm Syndrome." (Urban Dictionary)
