I hope Sweden stands up to the bullying.
It's not unusual for independant members of the public or even the media to voice their opinions - we do it all the time with Middle Eastern countries - but for the president or a government official to get involved is quite extraordinary.
The lack of a bail system is worrying, though, because it means wholely innocent people must spend time in prison.

I think the bail system means that rich persons can get away with murder.
I've followed an American series I almost got away. It is about fugitives from the American justice who finally got caught, some after 20 years on the run. Often they supported themselves by drug dealing, robberies and other crimes. They were caught under their false identity but released on payment of bail. They had money for the bail but never returned for trial.
If a person in not found guilty in Sweden, s/he will get indemnity for the time in custody.

Trump's tweet:
He's implying that the Swedish police is racist. Bullshit!
Trump has also tweeted something about "We've done so much for Sweden". Don't know what he means.
Actually people don't sit in prison but in custody ("häkte") houses. This is in some ways worse than prison. People in custody may not see other persons than their lawyers or vicars etc. They may not see, telephone of write to their friends and family. They may not read newspapers, listen to the radio, see TV or use internet. They sit in their rooms 23 hours of the day and night with just one hour of fresh air/exercise.

Useful advice. Presumably, similar rules apply to UK citizens abroad.

The US embassy in Stockholm demands that Asap Rocky and his two friends should be moved to a hotel. Why should they have special treatment? Because US is a superpower, I guess. The request is denied.

I'd support it if Donald Trump was moved to a prison in return.

Heren suspects on trial do not get released either but are compensated if they're found not guilty and if found guilty their time in custody will be subtracted from their prison sentence. Being in custody is not the same as being in prison by the way.
