So, Karma, should we keep the option or disable it?

I have no objection either way. Personally, I think it would have been more useful to be able to karma a post, rather than the poster, but hey ho.

I'd prefer that as well, but that doesn't seem to be an option.

I'm undecided so I'll reserve my vote until later.
ETA: I've decided nay on the grounds that it can have a detrimental effect.

I don't really mind. I like being able to show my appreciation of someone's post, but karma isn't exactly that. It probably doesn't matter if it's there or not. It's a fun toy for a little while.

I really don't like it. (Shades of being the unpopular girl in elementary school...)

Maybe just exalt the idea for now and see how it goes. Smite it later, if it gets abused.

I don't really care, but I get Kye's point. Somehow, it does bring back memories of popularity - or lack thereof, in my case.

Ágree with Kye, it's a bit like a popularity contest and not useful to appreciate a particular post.

Ágree with Kye, it's a bit like a popularity contest and not useful to appreciate a particular post. Well....yeah, but... Now you and Kye are part of the "popular clique" ( my popular clique, at least) and you can rectify all those 'negative waves' which were directed at you in your 'outcast days'. Me, though....? I wouldn't feel comfortable if I weren't part of some outcast caste.

Have to do a class on bullying tomorrow and am so not looking forward to it. The roots of bullying lie with paleolithic man's desire to enforce social structure, methinks.

I think it's mainly to feel better about yourself and to show yourself you belong because the other so obviously doesn't.
